A few weeks ago crew member Brad Janes finally got the call that a new Honda Rubicon Deluxe was available. He had his name on a bunch of waitlists (there is a huge shortage of supply for new ATV's due to the ongoing global pandemic) and Honda Town in Carbonear was the first to call.

Brad struck a great deal for the bike & accessories and the unit was his. The bike is a 2022 Rubicon Deluxe featuring a liquid cooled 520cc engine and 5 speed DCT transmission which is a dual clutch auto shifting gearbox. This bike also features a beautiful riding independent rear suspension and power steering for comfort on the trail.

The Deluxe package adds beautiful matt finish plastics with custom graphics, upgraded tires, beautiful factory aluminum rims, power steering and a front differential locker.

Janes immediately added a WARN VRX Series 2500lb winch, Honda/Heat Demon Heated grips and a rear storage box with rear fender protectors to round out a beautiful package.

A week later Janes came down to the house and hauled the bike into my garage for an additional Shed-Headz Area51 PDI. This included removing all wheels to anti-seize the hub surface, wheel studs and axle nuts, and to apply fluid film to the frame & electrical grounds. This will prevent troubles that could pop up with long term ownership.

With the PDI complete we hit the trails of Torbay leaving directly from my house.

We didn't get too tangly today as it was a shakedown run for both the new machine and rider!

A couple weeks later Janes & Cook got out for a rip in the Goulds where Janes had his first stuck on the new bike! Stay tuned for project updates and future adventures!

Cheers, MIKE
