October 10, 2009 Southern Harbor Boating:

This weekend Captain H. finally got his outboard motor back from the repair shop so we decided that a little excursion was in order. Apparently a small amount of dirt passed through the fuel filter causing the carburetor to clog and the motor to run poorly. With that fixed, Captain H, Joe, Terry, Calvin and I jumped aboard and headed up the shore to a beach near LeManche. The motor ran great all the way up and the ocean was almost a perfectly dead calm.
We landed on a remote beach where we found a pile of driftwood and other debris suitable for a beach bonfire. We sat around and enjoyed an awesome fire, a few beverages, and some tunes on Joe's stereo well into the evening before heading back to the wharf in Southern Harbour. It was a small excursion, but a lot of fun all the same.
Cheers, MIKE
