February 5, 2011 Goulds Sled/ATV Rip: (5 Photos)

5.   Today most of the crew finally got out for the first decent run of the year. Sooley, Maffer, French, Bill and I left from Power's road in the Goulds and checked out the powder on the many fields in the area. It was an awesome day with sunny skies and lots of fresh snow to play in. We eventually made our way over to Northern Pond road and picked up the NLSF trail to Witless Bay. We made it about 1/2 way when one of the guys got a call for work, so we called it a day and headed back to the trucks. There was one bad bog hole in this trail, unfortunately one young lady tipped her machine over trying to get through. Luckily she was only a little wet, but not hurt.

4.   On the way back we met up with Long, Todd who have track kits installed on their Yamaha Grizzly ATV's. Its a pretty awesome set up that seems to work great in the deep snow.

1.   The first run of the year is always killer on the body as you get used to the bumps, hauling on the machine working muscles that haven't been used since last winter! But as always, it was worth it, and hopefully the winter shapes up great now that its finally here!

Cheers, MIKE
