April 19, 2026: Torbay Argo Ride (21 Photos)

Today I took advantage of an absolutely beautiful sunny day and hit the trails here in Torbay for an Argo adventure in Project 6x6. Nothing fancy today, its been way too long since my last Argo rip, I just wanted to log some miles on the beast!

Trail conditions today were a mixed bag of gravel, a lot of water, quick sand like mud and in places up to four feet of deeply rutted snow.

Ground clearance is limited on my classic Argo which is equipped with just 22" tires. These are the largest that will fit with this model's axle spacing. Low ground clearance can be a PITA on deeply rutted trails but I made it work with some creative tire placement on the rougher sections of trail.

This machine continues to run absolutely fantastic. About a month ago I performed a quick top side carburetor clean which is just preventative maintenance to ensure it runs well. Today I checked the fluids and tire pressures (as its been sitting awhile) and hit the trails.

It wasn't bad going even in deep snow, as the day wore on the snow loosened to a sugar consistency which made riding a little more complicated.

On my way back I found some blown over trees completely blocking one of the popular side trails.

Some quick work with my CS 2500 mini chainsaw had the trail opened back up in no time.

Conveniently this was located within the cutting area for my wood cutting permit so I loaded up the machine with some firewood for the backyard fire pit.

All in all a trouble free, very enjoyable rip on an absolutely beautiful day!

Cheers, MIKE
