April 22-May 1, 2026: Vegas Part 2 (348 Photos) |

Saturday morning Sandra, Rod and I headed back to the Miracle Mile Shops to try the third of three restaurants with breakfast specials, today we would try LaSalsa Cantina.
The breakfast special here was $9.99 and included two eggs, two strips of bacon (or substitute a slice of ham), seasoned hash browns with fried red onion & peppers and two tortillas. To add Texas toast was just $1 and coffee was only $3 plus to Rod's pleasure they had actual creamer not half and half! This breakfast was the best by far and would warrant repeat visits during our stay.
After breakfast Chris (aka Nan today), Jennifer, Sandra, Rod and I hopped on the Northbound DEUCE to the Bonneville Transfer Station where we picked up route 401 to take us to the North Premium Outlet stores.
We had lunch at the Outlet Mall foodcourt, today we chose South Philly Cheesesteaks for some absolutely deadly Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches!
We took advantage of just a couple sweet deals before heading back to the bus stop for the ride Southbound stopping at Fremont Street for a quick tour. Temperatures dropped noticeably this afternoon hitting just 15șC, I was sure happy to have my recently acquired salmon coloured hoody!
Leaving Fremont Street, we continued Southbound on the DEUCE. Sandra, Rod and I would be getting off at Resort World to figure out this ZOOX robot taxi thing while Chris and Jennifer headed back to the Horseshoe to hit the poker tables.
The Resorts World property was absolutely stunning. It was our first time visiting as it was just starting construction the last time we were here. Built on the site of the Legendary Stardust Hotel, it was awesome to see a tribute to the site's legacy just inside the door.
There is even a mini Sphere inside the shopping centre!
Here we finally found the rumoured ZOOX kiosk which was manned by some of the friendliest and most helpful staff we've met so far.
Since Canadians cannot yet download the app to use the ZOOX service, the staff manually set you up in the system and book a ten minute test ride which was just perfect for what we wanted to experience.
These state of the art vehicles are fully electric and fully autonomous, there is no driver and no vehicle controls. Just a box on wheels strapped to a computer.
The interior while utilitarian is quite comfortable and features a beautiful starry night headliner, a fantastic sound system and a very quiet &smooth ride. These vehicles get up to full speed quickly in traffic which we discovered as we were whisked up Las Vegas Boulevard on our test ride loop.
It was a truly epic experience of what the future has in store for public transportation.
Going back through Resorts World Rod and I stumbled across the most epic public washroom any of us has ever seen!
Another quick rip on the DEUCE had us back to the hotel in no time.
Here we met up with Chris and Jennifer to head back over to the Miracle Mile Shops and grab a late supper.
The weekend crowds were larger than the weekday visitors but Vegas is far from Dead despite what the media may lead you to believe.
This evening we returned to Blondies to try out their supper menu.
Jennifer and Chris ordered the steak which was disappointing, I'm guessing this sports bar doesn't sell many steaks as it just tasted old. The restaurant replaced their meal with the same Salmon dinner I had chosen which was absolutely delicious. For my sides I picked steamed broccoli and delicious simple mac-n-cheese.
The only wild part of tonight's dining experience was that the restaurant was unable to split the bill which is just retarded this day and age. To make it worse the staff were rude about it, unhelpful and the manager absent. Decent food, shit service.
Chris vs a hairless cat! LoL
